The High-Performing 2018 BMW HP4 RACE
The HP4 RACE is a truly unique motorcycle. In fact, there are only 750 in existence and just 10% of those in the United States. But we have one at BMW of Manhattan Motorrad, and we want to tell you all about it.
We created this 2018 BMW HP4 RACE review for thrill-seekers like yourself around Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx. Discover this bike’s characteristics below, and don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
The BMW HP4 RACE was designed to push the limits on the racetrack. It comes standard with an in-line 4-cylinder engine that puts out 215 horsepower at 13,900 PRM and 88 lb-ft of torque at 10,000 RPM. Plus, the maximum rotational speed is at 14,500 RPM.
Not only will you get notable power and speed on the race track, but you’ll get impressive stopping power, too. This is from the Brembo GP 4 PR brake calipers that are tailored for professional racing.
Also equipped in the HP4 RACE is a 6-speed EVO gearbox. It has shortened shift travels and includes a secondary transmission. The gearbox controlled through the HP RACE Shift Assist Pro. Additionally, the rider will receive clear responsiveness with each gearshift, due to the lack of a spring actuator.
For an even more responsive performance, this bike has several driving modes: WET, INT, DRY1, and DRY2. Within each mode, wheelie control and maximum engine torque are fine-tuned, so the driver can concentrate solely on their ride.
BMW didn’t mess around when creating this bike, letting you know its racing heritage through every single detail.
It has a self-supporting carbon front with an aggressive splitface. The dome-shaped windscreen offers optimal protection and keeps riders in a streamline. Plus, the bike’s colors are truly Americana, with a combination of Light White, Racing Blue Metallic, and Racing Red.
The seat was designed for top ergonomics for every driver. It has three seat adjustments: 31.1 inches, 32.7 inches, and 33.3 inches. Furthermore, the milled footrest system has eight settings, and the handlebar tapering can be adjusted by 15 degrees.
All in all, you’ll have a comfortable ride in a head-turning motorcycle.
The frame of the 2018 HP4 RACE is made of seamless carbon fiber. In fact, this material is used for most of the bike, including the steering head, swing art pivot, and wheels.
By using carbon on the wheels, you get the rigidity of aluminum, the hardness of steel, and the flexibility you need to make those turns around the track.
There’s also a solid titanium exhaust system, as well as a self-supporting carbon rear with 2D GPS mouse. Through this bike’s complete construction, you’ll get minimum weight for maximum functions.
